THE GOOD NEWS
Inside Cyber Warfare 3rd edition is complete as of 0800 PDT this morning when I’ll be turning it in to my editor. The next month or so will be spent doing edits and getting feedback from tech reviewers, and the book should be available for sale in early to mid Fall of this year.
It’s a completely new book with all new content and I truly believe that it’s my best work to date. I hope that you’ll feel the same way.
THE BAD NEWS
The bad news is that I’ll be doing my edits while I’m undergoing chemotherapy for prostate cancer during the next few months, then radiotherapy for two months, and then back to chemo until Labor Day of 2025. While the various treaments are going to suck, I’m very grateful that it wasn’t something worse.
How You Can Help
As you may know, I’ve started a new Inside AI Warfare blog (InsideAIWarfare.com) on the Ghost platform. It’s a much better platform for creators than Substack. I would appreciate it if you’d consider becoming a paid subscriber on the new platform. My insurance doesn’t cover the full cost of my tests, surgery and treatment, and until my book is published, subscriptions to the Inside AI Warfare newsletter are a significant part of my income, so I’d be very grateful to those of you who can afford to subscribe.
No one besides myself and two or three journalists are taking a deep dive into the questionable “AI poses an existential risk to the human race” narrative and I may be the only one who’s pointing out the obvious conflict of interest when dozens of AI safety institutes are receiving funding from a few non-profits that have an agenda to use existential risk as a lever for influence in AI regulation efforts in the US, UK, AU, and EU governments.
There are two articles up now, and I’ll be publishing a new one on Tuesday with the goal of doing one each week throughout the Spring and Summer so that I keep my head in the game during treatment.
Thank you for taking an interest in my work over the years, and I hope to see you at a launch party for Inside Cyber Warfare Third Edition as soon as I’m healthy enough to travel.
Warm regards,
Jeff Caruso
